2022 Kia Sorento HEV/PHEV
The 2022 Kia Sorento PHEV/HEV will be available with the same engineering and appearance as the gas-powered version that debuted in 2021. A 1.6L turbocharged four-cylinder engine is coupled with a 13.8-kWh battery and a 66-kW electric motor in the PHEV model. The engine produces 261 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. More crucially for plug-in purchasers, it features a 51 km electric range, a 2.8 L/100 km city, and a 3.2 L/100 km motorway fuel efficiency. All-wheel drive is standard on all PHEV versions.
The 2022 Kia Sorento PHEV will have an electric-only range of 51 kilometres, which is fewer than the segment’s standard. This is accomplished by combining a 1.6L 4-cylinder turbo engine with a 13.8-kWh battery to produce 261 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. However, the most accurate estimates are those for fuel consumption: 2.8L/100 km in the city and 3.2L/100 km on the highway.
The 2022 Kia Sorento HEV will use the same 4-cylinder engine that produces 227 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. Fuel consumption statistics are 6.4L/100 km city and 7.0L/100 km highway.
A 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine and six-speed automatic transmission are teamed with a 13.8kilowatt-hour pack and 66.9-kilowatt electric engine in the 2022 Sorento PHEV, which balances efficiency with greater power. The PHEV will feature 261 total horsepower (a 34-horsepower boost over the conventional hybrid), a 32-mile all-electric capability, and a predicted mpg-equivalent of 79.
The 2022 Kia Sorento PHEV is much “greener” than its gas competitors, with an estimated 2.8 L/100 km city (3.2 highway).
